i dunno but i laughed my ass off when i saw it i'll wager it's a reference to vibert's overuse of the amen breakbeat, which he overused almost to the point of embarrassment on the Plug series unfortunately for mr. 606, that was before a million other junglist wankers overcooked that beat until it took on more of a cliche then the fucking 'funky drummer' break, so his "creative" re-hashing of the same goddamned beat leaves me colder than payne stewart at 35,000 ft he's a clever programmer and producer, Kid606 is. he just needs to vary his sonic pallette into slightly less trodden regions... i think tom jenkinson should be the only human allowed near Amen for the next ten years josh -- String Theory : Digital Music for Humans http://www.enteract.com/~yoshi/index.cgi On Mon, 17 Jul 2000, Brian MacDonald wrote:

do yourself a favor and get his full length from last year. Just when you thought the amen could not be abused anymore, he he keith proves ya wrong:) A very good record, besides the amen tweakage the musicality is very original and well done... ciao Nate On Tue, 18 Jul 2000, Josh Davison wrote:

Are you kiddin' ? That's such tDR wannabe shite ! And when I saw an advance copy and looked at the track listing on the back I thought it was a CD-R. All the writing, on the cover and on the back, looks really plain and uninspired, almost as bad as the writing on the "Attitude" 3" CD on Tigerbeat6. hmm... well the worst design that i've seen recently is the beta bodega CD. sure the music is good, but what the hell are you supposed to do with all of those pieces of packaging. maybe you could argue that it's innovative, but i think it's mostly just a pain in the ass. said it before, but i think the best design i've seen lately is the leaf stuff that i've picked up (eardrum remixes, inv sdtrks IV). nice to see them put some time into those sleeves instead of just throwing the records into plain white. something i've been meaning to ask: did the morrmusic version of pop loops for breakfast have the hidden track? that being a great cover of natalie imbruglia's "torn". the charizma CD has it, and i was just wondering if it had been added for that release. thanks, alan np:alt.frequencies.4 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

The lp version of Poploops (Morr Music released the lp version but not the cd) only contains 8 of the 12 tracks on the cd version. I dont have the lp myself but I did listen to it and I dont think the hidden track made it onto the lp version. Speaking of Fleischmann, his new cd on Fuzzybox. 'A Choir of Empty Beds' is great. A solid followup to his Poploops album and much better than his Sideone ep which wasnt quite as good as Poploops. -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
