I was perusing the news section at the Ninja Tune website, and in the track listing for the upcoming 3 CD compilation "Prisoner of Xen" (which looks pretty tasty, by the way), I found the following snippet of news/gossip that is rather interesting... Luke Vibert 'I Hear The Drummer' Luke Vibert has been signed to Ninja Tune for the last six years and has released four pseudonymous albums for the label. So. Assuming this isn't just the Ninjas taking the piss, any speculation on which project(s) are Vibert in disguise? Could be they're including the stuff he produced for Big Dada, their hip-hop label. Perhaps Fink? There's a bit of a loungy Vibert vibe to some of thier stuff. Hmmmm. 'I Hear The Drummer' has been playing on my box since we got the first samplers of what might be part of xen -- ninja turns 10 this year. i dont believe (but i could be wrongish) luke had anything to do with the new fink album... luke vibert did an album with b.j. cole this year - not for ninja... ninjas like luke, ninjas like to take the piss... these comments may or may not be true... dont believe the hype, do you? check the forum, sign up for the newsletter. one day truth will be revealed...

for those who haven't seen the tracklisting: http://www.ninjatune.net/ninja/news/ their are a few yummy things on the compilation... roots manuva and amon tobin 'collaboration', and it's nice to see a few things make it on disc, kid koala: emperors main course! there's pics of fink up on the 'microsite' -- its not vibert. fink is e.v.a though... if that counts for anything. bye e.wong
