Theorem got into a great, housey IDM groove at this live concert. If you have a high speed connection, check it out in the DEMF Stage archive at http://www.groovetech.com/demf/ If you only have so much time, zip ahead to the spooky stuff he's laying down beginning at about the 32 minute mark. Well, it's not a new album, but still, sounds interesting... From Warpnet: ----- Apocalypse Now: Darkside image maker Chris Cunningham, in-demand director of Aphex Twin's Come To Daddy and Windowlicker videos, is again collaborating with his muse on a short film/art installation. The piece, Cunningham's first foray into short film-making, features 17 minutes of new music by Aphex and forms part of the Royal Academy's Apocalypse: Beauty and horror in contemporary art exhibition in London. Featuring key contributors to the RA's Tabloid-baiting Brit Art showcase Sensation like Jake and Dinos Chapman and Darren Almond alongside international artists Jeff Koons, Mariko Mori and Turner Prize nominated photographer Wolfgang Tillmans, Apocalypse runs from 23 September to 15 December. More details to follow... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Let's hope this gets published somehow ... Because there's no way I'm gonna be able to see that exhibition from way over here in Minnesota! So, wait, does this mean Chris has been working on this exhibition all this time and not Neuromancer? What gives? On Tue, 11 Jul 2000 12:36:25 +0100, Eddie Symons wrote:

I read an interview with one of the guys that runs warp (can't remember which one now), and he was saying there that one of the future items they had in mind for the website was to feature short films. So I guess this could be the first one. Not sure when they plan to start doing this kind of thing though (or even if they still intend to), but I'd assume it'd have to wait until they thought their visitors had the technology to actually view it (ie. broadband, which is taking forever to get going in the UK).
