I don't want to step on anyone's toes who are on list but...... I stayed late at deep heaven in Boston last night to see the live set from colongib & octopus inc. and i have to sat I was EXTREMELY disapointed. These guys couldn't even mach a beat off a powerbook last night. Every song consisted of an uninteresting beat that was run through filters by the other one. Some funny samples but on a whole it was horrible. They also brought out a sax player and tried to sample him into a live mix but couldn't do seen to work it out on time. All I could wonder was if they even prepared or cared about the performance. Granted there weren't too many people there by that time but really.... Was this just a bad performance out of many good one's? Or are they always this disappointing? Please make me feel better about them. I hope that they were just having a bad night. They were quite good the night before in lowell. Their set went all over the place and had some cool down tempo stuff and one really hard track. Noah and Chris really looked like they were having a good time and very into what they were doing. I think the highlight was when they had an audience member get up in front and do some free-style rapping.....it was hilarious. Marumari kicked butt too, even though he had a monitor land on him.
