Really enjoying the new batch of (K-raa-k)³-related releases. Plenty of experimental ambient, glitch, post-rock, and idm for all! Here are the press blurbs on all. If you've been tuning into inaudible then you've already heard me play these. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kristian Peters... Adlib is another moniker from the young Kristian Petters, a.k.a. Novisad. He lives in Rostock, Germany and studies informatics. Petters combines perfectly the software computer culture with intensity. His music reflects so much emotion through electronic wires -- you start wondering why more electronica people don't succeed in the same way. Everything is done with a detailed precision which makes it difficult to relegate this to the background. Even if its 'ambient', it still turns your brain around and hits you. Here are the release particulars: . Kristian Peters: Adlib cd (K-raa-k)³ Tracks: - weich - feld - deconstruction - winter - einöde (wilderness) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Es... Second release in the guitar improv series (the first was Shifts). This Finnish guy is pretty young, but has a distinctive feel towards his guitar play. Excerpts from his talents can be found on the Kila 7"s, but here he is operating alone on his self-built guitar and other 'soundlabs'. Its dark and quiet with lots of floating, hissing and inspired constructions. Every now and then a melody pops up which brings together the harmony between improv and a 'listenable' experience. Difficult to point out references, but try mixing labels like Mike Droner and Corpus Hermeticum -- or even Kranky -- into one melting pot, and you'll come close. As for guitar technique -- he's got his own way of 'sweeping' the strings. You'll get the same feeling as Richard Youngs' or even Alastair Galbraith's records. Es quickly becomes something very personal and introspective in each individual life he touches. Here are the release particulars: . Es: flick cd (K-raa-k)³ - rainpipe - clink - kemialliset häät - flick - signal to god - klink - baureuth-ulvila in 16 h - vertex - wormhole -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pimmon... Paul Gough is an Australian audio addict who has been creating sounds for many years, but only recently stopped hiding his creations. Kinetica is the fluttering yes/no state of his sounds rendered via PC. Pimmon manipulates a variety of sound sources on PC, but enjoys assembling the final creation on analog tape, creating a warmth that he desires. That's just one example of how Gough attains originality and a personal feel in his music. Kinetica is a reflection of the state of mind Pimmon finds himself in when he creates sounds, the flickering state of possibilities wherin the pendulum swings between chaos and order, collapse and coherence. Pimmon released his debut CD last year on the Japanese label Meme, as well as an LP on the Dutch label ERS, and a 7" on the UK's Static Caravan. The three labels are quite different in their approach to releasing music, and its this diverse and kinetic state of Pimmon that allows him to transcend musical genres. The sound of Pimmon? Pimmon manages to combine sounds and emotions without sounding unfocused. Buzzes and blips, distorted rumbles, ghosts of melody, radar pulses, and glitched ambience are all melted into an unpredictable slab of sound that fluctuates on and off. Minimal and maximized sounds weave without sounding unfocused. Microscopic worlds that are zoom-lensed into grainy focus, alien and yet vaguely familiar, an emotive call from the distance -- all combine to form Kinetica. Here are the release particulars: . Pimmon: kinetica cd (K-raa-k)³ - hexham scent - between the heart - circumlocation - emapanar : redactar - froda - lime pow - directory is empty - buzz like blue children - indigo_upper - west spaghetti west -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ktp.michi.gan... After the excellent ep by Kerne (aka Dilemma), the Trim label returns with a full album by Michael from Schneider tm under his new Ktp.michi.gan guise. The album, entitled Hey Love, features eight tracks that combine an alluring (albiet deconstructed) melodic pop sound with post-glitch experimentations. If you're familiar with his Schneider TM work, then imagine an experimental and somewhat minimal twist to get an idea of the sound of this album. Very nice indeed. Here are the release particulars: . Kpt.michi.gan: hey love lp (Trim) Tracks: - pikt cheri - tusche - re. - testton - fur dick (4you) - hey love - wut u 2 do 2 me - sister re.i -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dont forget that (K-raa-k)³ is also now in charge of the manufacturing and distribution of the Suction & Outward Music Company vinyl releases as well. The most recent of which: . Lowfish: eliminator lp (Suction) . Assorted Pieces comp 10" (Suction) . Nudge/If.then.else split 12" (Outward Music Co) For more info on any of these releases contact (K-raa-k)³ via http://www.kraak.net/ or info@kraak.net or inquire at your local record shop like Bent Crayon (where I got mine). -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
