I have salamander , and found it dissappointing.
My feelings for the album are pretty much summed up
by the first track : a very cool slow beat, with
bubbly noises... which is then ruined at 2:30 or so
by a strange squeaky cheesy synth that I find extremely
grating, and I track skip to track before 3:00 hits...
and there are other parts that sound cheesy in the same way.
I still like the album on the whole (none the the rest of
the tracks are as bad as the first), but I think it could
be a lot better.
However, I recently got the digitalis EP and totally love this.
I can't quite put my finger on the difference between this
and salamander - some how it just sounds more 'serious'.
Others that didn't like salamander might want to give this
EP a try (its released I think domestic US on Darla records)
I also really like the ISAN track on the Warp10 compo -
so what other ISAN stuff should I seek out? is the rest
more like cheesy-Salamander type stuff, or more serious like
Digitalis+ the Warp10 remix?
Regards,
Aronne
