if this list represents IDM, then it most definitely sucks. Why must people feel the need to attack others who happen to mention something they aren't into? Remember, we are all strangers from around the world and maybe raves are cooler where they are than the ones you have been to. Try to be tolerant of others but I will comment that at all the raves I have been to, I have never heard any IDM, more like house, trance, goa etc... so really raves are not a relavant topic here, as this really isn't a generic "electronica" list, but a list for experimental music. But, on the issue of PLUR, whether or not it is a cheap slogan for a pmpous clique of young druggies, or the battle cry of a noble rebellion of moral saviors, it is still a cool concept. Who coulcn't use a little more peace, love, unity and respect in their lives??? The only problem I have with it is the "unity" part, because "unity" usually ironically implies factioning, in that it means "unity against the others" others being the non-ravers I guess... Well, I could be wrong, but how about talking about tangerine dream or kraftwerk or eno or some other roots of IDM suff or other more important stuff???? Oh, by the way, there is a band called SouthPacific which combines IDM and rock in a kind of slowdivish way and they are awesome PEACE OUT HOMIES.... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Don't assume this.... I think the list has something like 500-1000 members and the recent annoying threads have involved some small fraction of these people. (maybe 10-15?) I think the vast majority just don't give a shit about the silly arguments, and just delete the messages. There really isn't any other way to deal with stupid threads than to just ignore them. regards, Aronne ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
