Saw a couple of compilations today that seem to ring a bell, but I didn't really recognise enough of the names to buy on sight. Anyone want to give me any info/reviews on these releases? Also I saw a new AmbientSoho compilation, with a track by Plaid called buddy2. Is this track on any of their other releases? (I can never remember the names of Plaid tracks) Ta, Eddie --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

After the two excellent volumes of Voices In My Lunchbox 12"s, Plug Research return with the Voices In My Lunchbox compilation cd. If you missed out on the previous Voices posts, the Voices In My Lunchbox series of releases are experiments with vocals in techno, house, electro & electronic music. This cd compiles the tracks from both 12" releases plus several new experiments added in. Here is the track- listing for this release: . Voices In My Lunchbox comp cd (Plug Research pr19cd4) Tracks: - Herbert feat. Dani Siciliano: back to the start* - Dntel feat. Delgirl: goodnight* - Jesse Peterson & Tenants Band: you're right, there's nothing left - Phoenecia feat. Sandra Castillo: pounani - Chicks on Speed vs Potuznik & Bauer: lisi, this is house music - Smyglyssna feat. Cornelia: whopper - Mario Neugebaur: wildbitch 19* - John Tejada feat. Carmen Tejada: gira gira - Quarks: kikyo/pole remix - Kit Clayton feat. Mike Donuvan: casting nets - Black Faction feat. Awad Abusim: modanese* - Patrick Pulsinger: strong desire - Ectomorph: untitled* * new tracks in the Voices series... Dont have fabulous shit though. Lance covered _Voices in My Lunchbox_ pretty thoroughly - _Fabulous Shit_ is a mixed disc covering the Lo Recordings backcatalogue. It's an interesting listen, but not engrossing. If you are familiar w/ Lo Recs at all, you know they bounce around between noise, silliness, and some really magic moments. It's a good primer to the label, and at a good price (generally). If you've not heard the name Richard Thomas before, buy it to hear his track alone. And then go buy all his albums ; ) The comp is diverse, and as such it suffers as a whole, but this is also its strength it would seem.
