accidentally entered a park at 5.00am sunday morning and what do i hear? excellent excellent chilly ambient, sort of reminding me of global communication 76:14 but not as good (surprise! i'd like to see that topped).. listened for an hour, or so, and it turned out to be exactly the sort of stuff i'm into. went to the tent and asked what they're playing and they go 'patchwork' from germany. now, considering that patchwork would be absoluetly useless to try to find on any searchengines, i'll ask here. anyone? clues? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I have following CD which exactly fits your description of chilly abmient: Patchwork "Odeon" Spirit Zone 1998. Great slow electronica. If you take one track and try to listen to it in the middle you will hear just a ambient with slow beats - nothing particular. But if you listen it from the beginning - already on the second track you'll know that it is one of the best chillout discs ever issued - it stands from all other discs exactly with this feeling of completeness of the musical soundscape (just mere words - I'm bad at reviewing) any way it is a great disc and worth buying by any fans of ambient idm (slow electronica). Ask and you shall be given, dear child... don't give up on IDM just yet :-) Patchwork released a really good album titled Odeon in '98 on Spirit Zone. Although this German label is generally considered trancey, this release should actually fall well within the IDM camp. Worth checking out, definitely. I vaguely remember hearing that another album of theirs came more recently, but haven't heard it and thus cannot comment. Probably if you Alta Vista to Spirit Zone, you'll find something there. Good luck! I * --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

No clue, but a similar thing happened to me, sorta We went camping a few months ago deep in the hills of Arkansas in a cabin right on the lake. One morning after a standard vacation wake und bake breakfast I began to hear what I initially THOUGHT was Brian Eno's Music for Airports coming from the cabin next door.. Since we didnt bring any of our music (to get away from it all) I got all excited and after a few minutes of more careful listening I was horrified to find out it was actually a SLOWLY played cover version of Guns & Roses' "Sweet Child of Mine" being played on hammered dulcimer. BlecH!!! It had me goin' tho! BUt it was like checking out an attractive girl from behind only to have 'her' turn around and actually be some long haired burn out hippy guy with a mustache & beard!! arrgh! ernie Ernesto Ikerd, (817) 763-4795 Company Graphics, Dept 17, MZ-4202 Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company Fort Worth, Texas --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
