Two Banks Of Four is the project from the ex-member of Galliano
Mongo Santamaria. He has an album, entitled City Watching, and
several remixes eps all out on the Sirkus label. The two remix eps
I know of include mixes from Maas, Derrick Carter, and Mongo
Santamaria himself. The style of these releases is supposedly a
mix of vocal house, breaks, and trip-hop but i've not heard it
myself so I cannot comment. The Four Tet remix you speak of
is probably from a forthcoming release.
Regarding the Cirkus label, it's an odd london based label that
has almost 20 relaeses to date that range in style from house
to d&b/breaks to trip-hop/downtempo. I dont have a full
discography but I do know that some of the more well-
recieved Cirkus label releases have been Mr Scruff's first
album, a Fallen Angels (Wax Doctor and Alex Reece) double
album & 2 eps, the Two Banks of Four release, plus eps
by Wax Doctor, Johnny Conquest, Data (Nick Hugget &
Woodie Taylor), Jason Brunton, Wask featuring Adam
Bateman, and DJ Die remix eps of Karime Kendra &
Beatless.
