Does anyone know whatever happened to Subtropic? Last I heard they'd moved to the UK from San Fran to do stuff there. Has there been anything substantial released sense then? -matT --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Subtropic/jake smith is still around. Since his Reflective days he has released a handful of eps and new album all on the UK Fused & Bruised label but I havent personally heard any of them so I cant comment on their quality but if they are anything like his Homebrew album then the should be worth checking out. Subtropic releases: . Subropic: Throb 12" (Reflective 02) '94 . Subropic: Wild Card EP (Reflective 05) '95 . Subropic: Homebrew cd/lp (Reflective CD/LP 05) '95 . Skuff: Sound of Skuff EP (Surreal Sound 01) '96 . Subtropic: Life Time Mission EP 12" (Fused & Bruised 009) '97 . Subtropic: Public Service Announcement 12" (Fused & Bruised 017) '98 . Subtropic: Compression Point cd/2xlp (Fused & Bruised SUB1) '99 Comp & Remix appearances: . Synoptics comp cd (Reflective) '94 . Used & Abused Vol 2 comp cd (Fused & Bruised) '98 . Chinese Whispers remix comp (Sprawl) '98 . Beats By Dope Demand Vol. 5 comp 2xcd/5xlp (Kickin) '99 For more info on Subtropic's current output check the Fused & Bruised website at: http://www.fab.uk.com/ -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I can't believe Lance missed something in a discog:) Didn't Subtropic do a pretty cool remix for that Space Time Continuum remix LP? Called Absolute Black or something? I really liked that mix and I agree I need to hear more subtropic! Nate On Mon, 5 Jun 2000, Lance @ Inaudible wrote:

Oh, goodness gracious I did indeed slip up! Subtropic's mix on Spacetime Continuum's Remit Recaps was my favorite mix on that release! Looks like it's time for me to retire. The old geezer of idm is starting to lose it! : ) -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

A couple of weeks back I was out at a club, and a local DJ here in Wellington, New Zealand, mixed it through into some Clatterbox and then pulled out some Quant. Way to go dancefloor IDM, I thought to myself. :) Michael np.
