Aphex Twin's "Come to Daddy" is used as backing music for a segment in the hilarious CKY2K skate video (which is a follow-up to the original, even more uproarious, CKY video). The segment is editted sort of appropriately, as I recall, with video frame stutters coinciding somewhat with the percussive mayhem of the song. Bjork's cathartic "Hyperballad" is also featured, as are a plethora of pranks, mischief, stuntwork, monkey business, death defiance, and a bit of skateboarding. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

somewhat related.. clicking thru the few TV channels we get, i landed on some music video retrospective thing on VH1 the other night. sort of interesting how videos have changed over the years. anyway, they used a lot of audio snippets from "Windowlicker" during the transitions to commercials. i believe there were some brief clips of Bjork's "All Is Full of Love" video and the Madonna vid that Chris Cunningham worked on in the show's opening and transitional graphics. unfortunately, there didn't seem to be any mention of Cunningham himself at any point in the show. sad really. i guess strobed fish.eyed Puffy Combs videos are somehow more valuable. - jo5_h Beep Boop Muthafuckers --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

but you have to admire hype williams (for he is the man of fisheyedbuggyness) for his style. those missy eliot videos are perfection. hype williams / mike mills / spike jonze and chris cunningham above all are the best video directors out there at the moment if you ask me, but there are probably people even better than that... alex --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

true. i was really into those videos when that style was fairly fresh. however, a lot of ppl have tried to cash in on some silvery pants, a strobe light and a fish.eye lens.. so the style's sorta lost the appeal it once had for me. i'm sure Williams will keep innovating though. speaking of Hype Williams, i'd like to suggest that anyone who hasn't seen the movie "Belly" yet run out and rent it, on DVD if possible. it's quite possibly the prettiest movie i've seen in some time. - jo5_h Beep Boop Muthafuckers --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
