Thanks Current, I couldnt agree with you more on some issues.
Funny cuz this same thing happened to Saunderson too. Many cats just making
Phone calls to kukamongo and shit....dumb shit, young shit.....thats how it
goes...squandering shit.
Now, I am thinking who around here has the STRENGTH and STAMINA to keep all
the good stuff going in Detroit....dont get me wrong, its going now, and
steady in the hands of C-note( he betta check his answering
machine......)......and some other cats.....Who DONT NEED TO BE
Mentioned........dont guess, cuz U already know!
Muthafuckn O-is T. Ride, and Pay backs is what it is, a Bitch!

Hello,
The reason being that this set of releases was supposed to signal a
renaissance for Transmat Records. Transmat hit a slump in the mid 90's
when Derrick started putting most of his energy into his Dj bookings,
and he did not take the time to build a strong team to run things while
he was away. I had a friend who used to work down there before things
got restructured, it was rough. This compilation marked a new vigor in
the label that had not really been seen since the late 80's/early 90's.
Thank goodness for Indio, Tony Drake, and Aril Brikha.
As for homage to Juan, notice the catalog numbers. MS-___ MS stands for
Metroplex Subsidiary, that is Derrick May thanking Juan Atkins for
showing him the ropes.
whose drunken new years eve resolution was to have a record out on
Transmat,
Mike Taylor
