Picked this up today, For those who don't know, this is Nobukazu Takemura's label out of Japan. Volume 3 has tracks from Asao Kikuchi, Aki Tsuyoko, Tokimeki Science and others...The album is clearly on the child theme as much of Takemura's stuff is, unfortunately, the repetition of melodies can sometimes bring the whole thing down, some tracks are great, like Fantasia, but overall, I feel a bit like those recently burned on the Bochum Welt fracas. Anyone have an opinion on this release? What are the other childiscs like? Lastly, how recent is volume 3? Thanks, ---The Objector has spoken.--- "The goal of any writer is to acknowledge the numeric, programmed basis of his mind, and then supercede it. First one must explore the agonizing limits of patterns, their octahedral vultures and box-shaped emotions. After patterns are mastered, we seep into the mist of the patternless, passing through the thickest and thinnest of atmospheres. At each stage, patterns and non-patterns are grafted atop and within the gray matter of one's mind. At the nova point of summation the scar heals, erupts and bleeding anarchy blossoms like a larval butterfly." -The Objector October 6, 1999 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

i would agree about the childdisc comp. there are some really good tracks and some mediocre ones. i also bought the koota tanimura album "bluff vaudeville" something or other. and it is not that good. disjunct beats. cheesy keyboard patches and sequencing. very schizophrenic. i also recently got the asao kikuchi album "imaginary landscape". this is very good. more in the same vein as the takemura stuff. (like child and magic) very playful with lots of samples and collaging. but good melodies (reichian?) and some nice beats in places. a good variety of sounds and moods on the album. but all in all, more child music. ive heard the aki tsuyuko release as well. and that is also very good. just solo organ pieces. multitracked and reverbed and played around with. very nice music. lullabies, nice music for the evening. ive also heard a little bit of the suppa micro pamchop CD. and it is definitely weird. strange vocals. nice melodies. like it was described, strange bedroom music or something to that effect. anyways. i like the concept of child music. it introduces a much more playful and melodic and happy kind of sound that this world of IDM is often lacking. later, greg davis autumn records http://www.amug.org/~jkdavis/autumn np: papa m-live from a shark cage (this is a good one!!)
