Since the Alt.Frequencies comp was mentioned... I have Alt.Freq 2 & 3, and love 3. I also have and love a lot of the Worm Interface stuff, and Squarepusher and all that, so I've been damn keen to get hold of the first Alt. Frequencies comp, which I sadly missed out on when it came out (wasn't much into mail-ordering yet, had no credit card, and it was damn hard to find in Australia). So... does anyone either a) have a copy that they'd be willing to trade or sell (not that I'm ultra-rich) or b) have a copy that they'd be willing to put onto CD-R so I can at least hear how great it is? It's definitely out of print and when I was in Ambient Soho (Worm Interface's wonderful shop in Berwick St, London) they didn't have any copies or and leads either... Cheers, Peter. np: Unit - the Narcoleptic Symphony. Some of it's nice but not that impressive (a little cold, too similar synth sounds), except for a couple of ace tracks (it's mostly fucked-up drum'n'bass, and my fave tracks are the ones with the most interesting programming), until you reach the "Narcoleptic Tryptich". These last three tracks (before the great Panacea remix) are truly fabulous. Beautiful chordal synth passages and really great drum programming - one of the tracks has a very groovy 7/4 rhythm.
