My chance, I caught Lexaunculpt live last night at the Hub cafe in Fullerton (Orange County, CA) on my way with fine folks to the Reagan Years: this 80s video game arcade adjacent to the Hub... as a way to bathe myself of E3 2000..(Electronic Entertainment Expo). I tell ya, this is easily the best Lexaunculpt live show I heard. I know I know... "How can that Alex dude really make one show so different than the other when he just sits there in front of his laptop?"... In this case, it was the setting. The P.A. sounded great... and there were lots of folks were never heard of Lexaunculpt who were totally stoked. Highlights were his versions of the Metroid video game theme song and N.W.A. "Fuck Tha Police"... What I'd kill to get those on wax... Too bad it will never happen.. as least legitimately. ------- Single Of The Week definitely goes to Tipper's "Dissolve (out)". It's hard to go wrong with Buckfunk 3000, Mu-ziq, and Phoenecia remixes. I'm hardly a Mike Paradinas fan, but his remix is the clear standout on this one. So take that as a warning or a compliment... Phoenecia's mix was pretty damn cool, but more on the wandering side than the pounding side. As well with the Buckfunk 3000... not as much in the Head Trippin' And Booty Shaking dept. but more in the Head Shakin' And Booty Trippin' dept.... ---------- More props to that Riow Arai album "Mind Syndicate" the more I listen to it. Anyone who enjoys what gets talked about on this list, as well as Coldcut and Tackhead should check it out.. especially if you're more in the mood for the minimal and raw. Check out www.soup-disk.com for more info... although, most of the site is in Japanese. ----------- Oh yeah. ONLY BUMBLING FOOLS TALK ABOUT MUSIC ON-LINE... DON'T WASTE MY TIME WITH YOUR UNINTELLIGABLE BLABBER... Just to make sure I'm on-topic... ======================================================================= Brian MacDonald <brianm@kuci.org> KUCI 88.9 fM in Irvine, CA -- Orange County ======================================================================= --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
