Hello. Okay everybody, what CDs/MDs/12s/MCs are on your desk right *now*? Be honest -- no editing. Just call them as you see them. If your desktop is the place where you regularly file your music, then it doesn't count. It's got to be sitting somewhere removed from your regular collection. I've a large number of CDs currently on the desktop in front of my hifi, all of which I've listened to over the past week and haven't bothered to file away. Going from left-to-right, top-to-bottom across the desk: Pile One Breakbeat Era - "Ultra Obscene" CD1 Breakbeat Era - "Ultra Obscene" CD2 Autechre - "ep7" C J Bolland - "Electronic Highway" Underworld - "Beaucoup Fish" Seefeel - "Succour" Seefeel - "Quique" Warp 10 + 1 Warp 10 + 2 Warp 10 + 3 Disjecta - "Clean Pit Lid" Biosphere - "Sub Strata" Craig Armstrong - "The Space Between Us" Sneakster - "Pseudo Noveau" Plone - "For Beginner Piano" Cocteau Twins - "BBC Sessions" Fonn - "Field 831" Mice Parade - "The True Meaning of Boodlebaye" Pile Two C J Bolland - "The Analogue Theatre" Orbital - "Snivilisation" Orbital - "The Middle of Nowhere" Various - "Alt.Frequencies 3" Broadcast - "Echo's Answer" Mouse on Mars - "Autoditacker" Mice Parade - "Ramda" Seefeel - "Ch-Vox" Seefeel - "Starethrough" Moby - "Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?" 808 State - "Newbuild" Pile Three Scala - "To You in Alpha" Scala - "Beauty Nowhere" Cocteau Twins - "Heaven or Las Vegas" Sigur Ros - "Svefn-G-Englar" Gescom - "MiniDisc" -- Mark Stevens http://www.headspin.clara.net/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Should I give this one more time? I had a quick listen to each CD and I wasn't overly impressed. I think I was expecting something a bit different to The Downward Spiral, but I didn't hear anything radical. Should I give it another go?
quoted 1 line FSOL - My Kingdon single>FSOL - My Kingdon single
I spent *months* looking for my old copy of this, but just gave up. As soon as I ordered in a new copy, the old one turned up the next day. Humph! Here's looking forward to FSOL's new album, due for release "early 2000". It promises to be a psychedelic behemoth. Just added Squarepusher's "Selection Sixteen" to my pile today. Whoah, is it good. I don't know if this is old stuff tarted up, or if Jenkinson's got bored of his Hancock-style acoustic noodlings (although there are a few snippets here) and returned to his sequenced synthesis, but it's great stuff. Lots of gorgeous melodies in places, such as "Tomorrow World", which manages to out-BOC BOC, plus some frantic 303 action elsewhere. -- Mark Stevens http://www.headspin.clara.net/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
