My box is made out of pieces of Meccano on one side, Lego on the 2nd (with a star wars character from the cornflakes box offer sat on top!). The third side consists of Subbuteo figures (for you yanks - Subbuteo is a table soccer game - see 'three man army' by Massive Attack) set in a resin base. One figure is in a Ajax kit - could this be Jan Wouters, legendary Ajax hardman? (For you yanks again - Ajax are a Dutch soccer team legendary for their style and skill - though not recently) The 4th side is made out of string - hemp maybe? All sides are stuck on a hardboard base by lashings of superglue. The lid is made out of several of those bacon shape chewy things that you give to Dogs. Yuk! The CD sits inside with the middle threaded through a stump of a cut down HB pencil which is attached to the base. The audio portions include 1 track called the 'offal was offal' and consists of 5 minutes of groaning followed by the sound of a toilet being flushed. There is about 10 minutes silence before other tracks start. I can't seem to get the CD Rom part to start. Mat. ===== ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? my box is a wierd shape, a rhombus if you will, rounded out. with red wood on the bottom portion. The top is a plexiglass shape, the same as the bottom bolted in by two screws. i unscrew one and swing it open to get to the cd, which rests in a velvet/velour rounded spot. It starts off with 20 min. of slilence, and has a strange vocal sample to start off....."its 4 oclock in the morning, ...an unshaven face stares back at me froma puddle.....goes along, about 12 tracks. Good stuff, but i wish it were a little longer. As far as the cdrom part goes, there were a few little movies, and some mp3 tracks. Overall, iit was a pretty big investment, but i enjoy whats on it. Box Construction: two particleboard covers, hinged at on end, with a velcro and wooden latch at the other. There is beam in the top which contains a spindle to hold the CD-R. The beam is wired in place with 16 gauge copper wire. The inside of the box has felt on the bottom to help protect the cd from being scratched; no such protection on the upper half-meaning the disc will live outside the box. The letters "MMJ" are hand lettered on the bottom side of the box. CD-R: Track 1: Multi-media- a series of sounds (.wavs), images (.avi), and shockwave bits called Director 606 Track 2: (2:38) nice slow ambient track Track 3: (3:20) A soundtrack of the box being sanded? Track 4: (4:05) A soundtrack of the box being assembled-followed by some industrial sounds-becoming ambient Track 5: (0:13) short noise bit-echos Track 6: (0:25) clang-filled romp Track 7: (1:40) is that an organ or a grinder? Track 8: (2:58) filler noise; sonic wood-putty Track 9: (7:01) slowly surging beat-filled track, best thing on the disc Overall-for collectors only. wkm --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
