gave his hearty recommendation to a bunch of cds
by some character named Benge. it was my good fortune to take pj's advice because Benge delivers some fine melodic/ambient idm.
for those seeking complex beat programming ala
afx, schematic, etc i'm sure you won't be disappointed with Benge's
- 'computer music'
- 'polyrythmic electronica' e.p.
have no fear if hectic rythms aren't your thing
as these fine full lengths should satify your
melodic idm needs
- 'beautiful electronic music'
- 'home music'
- 'experimental non-vocal electronic pop'
as these albums have copyright dates ranging from 1996 -1999 i have to wonder: why haven't i heard of this guy before?
but wait, more excellent melodic idm can be found on the remix compilation 'Fingernail Versions' on the american Fuzzy Box label.
By far the best idm release from the darla/fuzzy box camp and should be a contender for idm compilation of the year. enjoyable stuff with only one or two weak tracks.
and finally for those idmers who look upon house music with disdain, but then secretly long to have those infectiously pounding rythms put you into a trance: satisfy your guilty pleasure with
'Bleepbloop Radio Presents: Intellect / Aesthetic' a continuous mix cdr of solid, uncommercial house tracks. if you only buy one house cd this year...
