Can anyone fill me in on who Sarah Jones is or where else she might've got recorded? I'm really _really_ enjoying her tune ('Your Revolution') on DJ Vadim's 'USSR: Life from the Other Side'. I find it so refreshing to hear something so unabashedly feminist within the hiphop tradition. Also not didactic, just stating her piece. Nice. Well, to answer my own question, I found out from a friend who's far more into hip-hop than myself that Sarah Jones is the woman who does the spoken word bits at the end of every (?) Roots album. I knew she sounded familiar, but I was thinking NY, not Philly.
