Starting to wonder why Autumn Records hasn't received too much attention on this list, as it should... I'd like to mention a couple of releases that are drenched in the melodic crunch of experimental electronics. Imagine if you will, Funkstorung, Colongib, and Solenoid collaborating and you have that sense of digital chaos mixed with subtle waves of simplicity. Frog Pocket's "My Favourite" cdr-LP combines those energetic, and experimentally confusing sounds with very complex rhythm's that unfold in every corner. Frog Pocket looks to be the guise of a certain John Charles, so if you're on this list, kudos to you for an album that consumes the listener with a backdrop of soothing electronics. Very smooth.. And while i'm on topic, the AR compilation called "Close Parenthesis" is another release i've been enjoying these past few days. With folks like Lackluster, Frog Pocket, Am, Gliese, Oxvylu, Otto Hive, Nanospeed, Asterisk, Undecipherable, and Def Star, this comp contains a wide range of silly, yet smart electronica that is pure fun. I find it hard to believe that i haven't picked up on Autumn Records, as they're already on their 6th release. "Close Parenthesis" molds the human and emotional components of audio waves with the raw and structural elements of machine music. If you want to hear what idm might sound like in a few years, i'd highly recommend this compilation for starters. Check the AR website for all the details.. www.amug.org/~jkdavis/autumn Pietro .. .. ~ on ~ Broadcast "Echo's Answer" ___________________________________________ p i e t r o d a s a c c o a u d i o - n i m b u s 9745 lynngrove cr, windsor, ontario, n8r 1b8, canada http://www.rain.org/~audio/grooves/ grooves experimental electronics music mag

thanks to pietro for the good words. if you havent checked out the autumn records webpage yet, go to: www.amug.org/~jkdavis/autumn AR is an independent CDr (for now) label dedicated to releasing quality electronic music from the US and around the world. sound samples for the new frog pocket album will be up soon. (its a damn good album) and also some new stuff by asterisk which continues the organic abstractions that began with the 1st two e.p.'s the new e.p. is called "one of us" and will be out soon. (i hope) also stay tuned to the site for an mp3 only release of a track by asterisk. later, greg davis autumn records www.amug.org/~jkdavis/autumn np: brian eno-another green world

is there some secret "let's not talk about cjb.net urls at all" hushup going on? http://autumnrecords.cjb.net works quite nicely last i checked, and is much easier to remember (for me mind you) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
