A little old but David Holmes Essential Mix is pretty fucking stunning, especially when its in a series nearly as scummy as "Dance Mix CD with bird on the cover". Also a little old but very highly recommended is the Prodigy mix album - pretty much covers all bases though its mainly hip hop, and just because its the Prodigy doesn't mean you should instantly sneer at it. Due very soon is a Richie Hawtin mix album so it maybe worth saving your pennies/cents until that one materialises BABY DIDDY ----- Original Message ----- From: Pedro Cevallos <pedro_cevallos@hotmail.com> To: <acid-jazz@ucsd.edu>; <ambient@hyperreal.org>; <idm@hyperreal.org>; <whitezone-l@mail.sonic.net> Sent: Saturday, October 09, 1999 9:38 PM Subject: whitezone-l Mixing as an arform

Still going down that list a Bambaataa mix album!!!!! VARIOUS mixed by AFRIKA BAMBAATAA: An Electro Funk Breakdown Mix (incl. Leftfield, Ceasefire, Tony Faline, Uberzone, etc.) (DMC CD: UNDJCD 2 [13.25]) Pinnacle As long as the quality is better than Death Mix I'm sure it'll be superb. Can anybody suggest some newer mix CDs out there. I think Tom Middleton have another one out recently (not Jedi's night out or the Mixmag freebie). Also has anybody heard this CD? VA: Chillout Basscapes 2CD (ZOOMSHOT) "Chillout Basscapes is the first product of its kind on Cologne's Area Code 221 label. Compiled and mixed by Germany?s Bass Enforcement Soundsyste, one of the most successful German Chillout/Dub Soundsystems. CD One compiles the most requested tracks of those club nights. Check out the floating sounds of Future Sound of London , Ex?Depeche Mode's Alan Wilder with his Recoil Project, Leaf?s new hot thing 310, Impulse from Berlin?s !K7 Label, London?s Dub Fusionists Baby Fox and Earth Nation or Visit Venus from Hamburg?s Yo Mama Label. CD Two gives you an idea of a typical Bass Enforcement set, with a range of bass sounds from Chillout to Dub. Hear acts like Roland Casper , TJ Rehni, Kushti, Tosca (Richard Dorfmeister), Jammin Unit, Biosphere, Autechre or Black Dog getting overdubbed by the mighty hands of DJ Macka Mi. This compilation is an aural experience."
