Apologies for semi-nonIDM related questions but I heard a song a few years ago that I can't find and that I'm dying to discover. Here are my clues: 1. Female vocalist 2. The chorus in part was "The consciousness goes.." 3. Lots of strings in the background. If anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it A LOT. Speaking of pop, is there a list devoted to groups like: Crustation, Morcheeba, Hooverphonic, Doris Days, Bjork, Slowdive and the like? I would love to call it pop but a lot of people think of NSYNC when you say stuff like that. David

It sounds like "Your Consciousness Goes Bip" by Snooze from his album The Man In the Shadow. Great album if you like hip hoppy/acid jazzy orchestral stuff. It's kinda in the same vein as Fila Brazillia (circa _Mess_ or so). The album got domestic distribution some time ago on a label I can't remember. Someone asked about that on here not too long ago. It might not be though, cause I wouldn't call it pop exactly. That song is kind of catchy and all, but it's not really pop. To clarify, did the song you're thinking of have d&b-ish beats (very mellow, but quasi d&b)? Jeff

It was released on SSR in Europe, and licensed domestically with some nice Fila Brazillia mixes and an additional version of Your Consciousness Goes Bip on Medicine Label in the U.S. Aaron

Hey, this is weird. Just yesterday I arranged to borrow the remix EP of this from a friend who I heard DJ'ing the Pulsinger mix off it. Very very nice it is too. I * np : the new Leftfield album - can't quite decide what I think of it yet. "patchy" might cover it?
