I'm wondering about what the rest of the 12"s on the Kromode label (other than the Bochum Welt 12") sound like. Were they all produced by Bochum Welt or something (was it his label?) Are they worth looking for? Thanks, B.

I remember the two Box Blaze and Random fluctuation releases as being straight up acid techno... unfamiliar with the Mutagenic Mind release, though. At 01:55 AM 10/4/99 -0400, AeOtaku@aol.com wrote:

KRM04 and FILE01 were the only kromodes with tracks produced by gianlugi. box blaze is typical mike dred style acid, and the others are similar basic X0X style analog techno. KRM04 contains 2 of BW's best tracks in my opinion, so it's well worth searching out. (and you can still buy kromode FILE01 on line at www.bochumwelt.com for $6) np: pavement: shoot the singer (one sick verse) peeeeeeeece, -- Jeff Davis pHlow@earthlink.net fn:216.533.6303 fx:216.266.2310 text:2165336303@mobile.att.net pHlow.linx: home.earthlink.net/~phlow/ Bochum Welt: www.bochumwelt.com Rotator Locator: hyperreal.org/music/rotator/

You know i'm very suprised that the Kromode FILE 01 release didnt get much attention on this list. Firstly because it is a very unique format for music to be listened/viewed/released in but most of all for the quality music contained therein. FILE 01 contains four previously unreleased tracks by Bochum Welt, Kim Cascone, Andy, and Masanori Ajioka. Bochum Welt's track on FILE 01 is probably my favorite BW track to date and the Kim Cascone track is an excellent subtle electronica gem. The Andy track is a very retro-sounding electro cut and the Masanori Ajioka track is a lively house- flavored affair. For more info & RA previews of FILE 01 check: http://home.earthlink.net/~phlow/file01.htm FILE 01 might be a glimpse at how the music of the future will be presented & distributed. Check it out. -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
