top of my head, in addition to >the overall ominous tone. A friend thought where I heard "whatcha gonna do?" it sounded like there >was another layer that said "why is everybody tripping?" i thought that she was saying 'i won't sleep with you' or 'im not sleeping with you' or something. but 'you know what' might actually fit better. .. and it's really bizarre that this thread should come up now b/c i actually just started noticing a lot of the little bits you're talking about just last week. it's clever; they have the little stuff hidden behind the big obvious ones .. like the very blatent "BOARDS OF CANADA" in the song mentioned above. and of course, "ORANGE!" ..yeah, that's right. :) you hear those things and think that's all there is to the song. i think it's an excellent way to give actual meaning to songs in a genre that is made up mostly of songs that are, besides personally and internally, meaningless to the listener. not that every song has to have a meaning to it; but sometimes it's nice to be able to say 'sixtyten is about rape, and that's why it's the scariest track on the album.' or 'aquarius is about tripping, and that's why it's so goofy and nonsensical and awesome.' :) i feel bad for people who aren't into boc, must be a painful couple days readin' the IDM. noah

I'm sure that will start it all up again. However it must be said Maximum Priest was better than its two awful precursors. Sure, the Ae mix was bad (they didn't have much to work with) but the A-side tracks were at least listenable. He's getting (back) there. B.

so this is all that's required of an underground electronic artist to maintain their fan-base these days? "i didn't _hate_ it." eric
