Yep, because affordable records that you can find just about anywhere are evil.* -d.w. * it really sucks having to explicitly label sarcasm, but if I don't then there'll just be a half-dozen flames from people for whom sarcasm might as well be 2048-bit encrypted...

I don't hate them at all. But when it comes right down to it, there has been absolutely no advantage to us Canadians when it comes to Matador (and Nothing) licensing Warp. Nearly every licensed record I've seen so far has been either the same cost as the Warp import or HIGHER. I know that sounds crazy, but it's true. The promises of "domestic" (American *AND* Canadian) versions are lies, since all the releases I've seen here are US versions that have been imported (which jacks up the price). Examples: I've seen the latest Red Snapper and TLS LPs selling for 22.99-24.99 for both the Warp and Matador versions. I got the Warp version of Ae's EP7 for 11.99 - the (ugly) Nothing version is anywhere from 18.99 - 22.99 which is a completely insane price for an EP. superfuzz@home.com
