brinkmann recommendations: i'd start with his Concept variations (the remix of Hawtin's Concept work) or either of his CDs on Suppose. hold off on the 12"s, perhaps, because they're best appreciated as a set, and unless you're a rabid completist, it's a bit overwhelming to be confronted with SO MANY goddamn 12"s in identical sleeves (ok, some are orange, some yellow, one green, but you know). i'll admit: i stopped buying the max/ernst titles because there were just too friggin many of them, and they all sounded alike to me anyway. there. i've said it. but holee shit, the suppose cds are really fantastic. like calgon, if you knowhaimsayin. too early, p
