this is somewhat off-topic, depending on the context, but... i just got an esi4000 sampler and it has a great effect called 'transform multiply' which takes two samples, combines their like frequencies and discards the rest. the result is great for coming up with new, creepy sounds from two ordinary samples. the problem is, it takes 20 minutes for 2-second mono samples (hey its a sampler not a celeron 450). does anyone know how to do this same thing via pc or mac software? this sounds almost like something you could do with a vocoder if it was set up right (not in the 'me make robot noise' sense, but in the fact that you have two signals modulated). and also...does anyone know any artists that use this? i dont want to go down this road if it's been killed already. thanks, -sean
