I bought eevolute 003 when it came out, which is also definitely worth having i reckon.... 2000 and 1 - neverending cycle....there's some choice cuts on there, i reckon. -- Ben Coffer Hybrid Productions http://www.hybridgame.demon.co.uk/

I like them all, except number 3 is not quite as good as the rest... but i think number 5 is probably the best, for a good variety of stuff. Out of interest, does anyone know if all of them were ever released on red coloured vinyl? my Red Planet 1 is on red coloured vinyl (i bought it straight when it came out)... -- Ben Coffer Hybrid Productions http://www.hybridgame.demon.co.uk/

well, what to say. there are several releases on UR which state 'produced by mad mike' and lots of those have lots in common with releases on red planet. also credits to juan atkins are given on red planet #4 so it's pretty easy to say it's not juan, and it's RP-5 which has a guest appearance from drexciya At 2-9-99 -0500 15:28 , you wrote:

red planet appears to be a collective with involvement at times from mad mike banks, juan atkins, james pennington, etc. but notice i use the word "appears" cos you're not going to see all the details on releases from RP, just *some*. andrew duke Kelley Hackett wrote:

The thing to keep in mind is that the Submerge philosophy is very much _not_ about hyping individual producers. That's the reason why, for example, nearly half the credited producers on last year's awesome _Interstellar Fugitives_ were new or unknown producers. They're running something that resembles an apprenticeship or mentoring program there: put people with ideas and talent but maybe without the resources to get a ton of gear into a fully equipped studio with some "old hands" and see what comes out. A statement like "UR is Juan Atkins" or "Red Planet is a guy from Drexciya" misses the point so much that it absurd -- the reality at 2030 is much more fluid & flexible. -d.w. not involved, just a fan
