I read that Bisk was doing a remix of Phoenicia. Whatever happened to that ? Definitely more interesting than "Spiritualised remix of LFO" (What the fuck ?). Bisk is one of the most underrated electronic artists out there IMO. "Ticklish Matters" is an amazing album. It puts most attempts at complexity (i.e. all that Autechre clone shite) to shame. Andrei

Eh? Some of the more interesting remixes i've heard lately were "rock" bands remixing electronic artists (e.g. High Llamas remix of Mouse on Mars' "Twift") Don't be so quick to slag before you've heard it. -d.w. np: Parliament - "Bop Gun"

(this is not a personal thing to the sender btw....jus my own bit of vitriol for the week). bye

PURE vintage Beach Boys, this track! (And very very enjoyable - best mix on the EP, imo).

The other way round doesn't always work, though - viz the high visibility factor of the remixers on the Pastels "Illuminati" and what a boring turkey broth *that* was. Oh don't shoot me. **IMO** I *

On the topic of remix packages & the High Llamas, i still love the High Llamas remix album called Lollo Rosso that came out last year on V2. The remixes by mouse on mars, cornelius, schneider tm and jim o'rourke are still in frequent rotation on my player. The perfect blend of cheese and electronica...

I agree. I too was a little disappointed with the Pastels remix package despite the impressive lineup of remixers - mouse on mars, my bloody valentine, to rococo rot, third eye foundation, stereolab, kid loco, cornelius, john mcentire, and jim o'rourke to name a few. There was an exception on this ep though: the Kid Loco remix which was cool in a screamadelica primal scream-kinda way. -->-Lance--- mclance@nacs.net lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

Agreed. But why must you dis Spiritualized's remix of LFO in order to praise Bisk? Have you even heard the "Tied Up" remix? I should think that both are wonderful in their own unique ways. Sorry, I wrote that half asleep and I got Spiritualized confused with Primal Scream. I'm just wondering why they'd leave the Bisk remix off the album. The Phoenicia 12" is great and Bisk is awesome. It just sounds like a very promising combination. Andrei
