To whoever recommended the Kirsty Hawkshaw singles a while back.... Just got two of 'em in today. The Sci-clone 12" with the Lemon D and Danny Breaks mixes are okay (is there another Sci-clon 12" with the Circulation mix on it?) but for fucks sake the Matrix remix of Leafy Lane is just sooo mindbogglingly gorgeous.... I wish there was more jungle like this these days.... (re: the new Aphrodite album on V2 after one listen is a pile of shit... though given that really respect his DJ sets, I'll give the album another shot before laying down the final verdict). Subtle yet with deep, pounding basslines and sugary vocals..... dark, mysterious, shimmering, penetrating, inspiring.... just words that come to mind regarding that Matrix remix..... Phew... got to go and rewind rewind rewind! Aaron

The circulation mix is on the Leafy Lane 12", I think it is under the name Joshua Stepper mix or something similar...

Hum, I quite like this mix, you should check out some of the other Matrix material, havent heard anything else by him that has vocals but most of his stuff has those nice compressed beats, with shattering bass... items of worth to me are: Martix - Mute (Prototype (this is the one, buy at all costs) Matrix / Optical - Datalife / ?? split 12" (AdHoc) Matrix - Metro 002 (cant remember the name...) Also any of the other stuff on Metro would be worth checking, as this is his label... Also, check the Global Communications mix of Lamb's Goreki for some nice recent vocal(ish) D&B One final note, as I am sure it will come up, this is the Matrix from the UK, of Drum&bass fame (?), rather than the Chain reaction outfit of the same name....
