Agreed Mr. McPherson, Ultramarine is nice.....actually that beginning tune
is another tune back in the early nineties which kept steering me toward
IDM/Techno. Solid and just all around pleasant, the tune sparked my world
for several years, until I met you cats!
Its nice in other spots too-----lets see if I can remember the programming
sequence, 1,3,4,6, 9&10(two solid tunes), 13-14-----a downtempo tune which
leads right into a techy tune....awww I will go home and play it!
Hk!

Subject: [idm] Ultramarine 12" wanted (DELETE if you don't care)
Sorry for the blatant lack of IDM content, delete if necessary.
I'm looking for a good copy of Ultramarine's 12" on New Electronica,
released previous to their _A User's Guide_ on said label. Anybody got
one for sale? Haven't had any success on-line.
On a (tenuous) link, their creations have stood up very well to the test
of time. Anybody who hasn't listened to Ultramarine yet really should
look into their middle catalogue - _Every Man and Woman Is a Star_ and
_United Kingdoms_ especially. Melodic and angular groove. The rhythm
programming isn't up to today's standards (which isn't necessarily a bad
thing), yet the funk appeal is undeniable. What are Mssrs. Cooper and
Hammond up to nowadays? It's been two years ...

np: _Nightfall in Sweetleaf_ by Ultramarine (imagine that)
