rumor has it that this is andrew weatherall under a pseudonym. if you've heard the latest dr ludlow and prof smith 12, the rumor would seem to have validity. it's a bit "goofier" than two lone swordsmen's *stay down* (due to some jokey vocal samples), but musically its crunchy, warped dub hop isn't that different from *stay down*'s eccentric electro. regardless of who created it, the new fat cat 12, rinsin' with the doctors, is recommended to those who like wordsound-like dub and instrumental (emphasis on mental) hip hop. I am late coming to this but I just got my copy. Rumors abound that this is either Andrew Weatherall or the two lone swordsman. I have played it out a few times and would lean towards it being tls. One track in particular (the one before the song composed of vocal snipets) has a signature tls sound to it. It may or may not be tls but if it isn't it is someone who was influenced by them. Overall impresssion: a more experimental, fun (goofy?) tls sounding record. -daniel Head Monkey Mad Monkey Records http://monkey.eliteware.com

Either way, Weatherall would have contributed, given that he's half of tls. Are you talking about Rinsin' With The Doctor or the first 12"? I'd be interested to hear a review of the other one too. I'm in love with TLS - Stay Down. Steve Schultze daniel wrote:

1999-08-25 14:07danielvery true; My personal opinion is that Weatherall by himself does not have the same style

very true; My personal opinion is that Weatherall by himself does not have the same style as when he is teamed up with Mr. Tenniswood. So thus the distinction. The release is titled "professors saying rass" when did "Rinsin' With The Doctor" come out? -daniel Head Monkey Mad Monkey Records http://monkey.eliteware.com On Wed, 25 Aug 1999, Steve Schultze wrote:

I'm not sure when Rinsin' With The Doctor came out, but it was after Professors saying rass. I haven't heard it myself, although I'll probably order it. A description from Forced Exposure is here: http://www.forcedexposure.com/artists/dr.ludlow.and.mr.smith.html daniel wrote:
