i'm suprised no one has mentioned this. has anyone heard it (or seen the film)? pretty good stuff. three germans (whom i have not heard of- t. tykwer, j. klimek, r. heil) trying their best to sound like underworld, but with a bit harder edge it seems. plus some remixes by the likes of solid state, sun electric, and others. the film is pretty tight as well. anyone else have opinions? - wells oliver / s0ewoliv@titan.vcu.edu " The only difference between suicide and martyrdom is press coverage. The soundtrack has been going around the office here for a couple of weeks (that and the DJ rap album... don't know the name but I know the beats). I liked the CD but not as much as I thought I would. (mostly because I'm currently on a monstrous Electro kick). I definitely liked the idea of incorporating the actors into the songs. even if it wasn't totally my thing. m. -----Original Message----- From: wells [mailto:s0ewoliv@titan.vcu.edu] Sent: Tuesday, August 24, 1999 11:30 AM To: idm Subject: (idm) 'run lola run' soundtrack. i'm suprised no one has mentioned this. has anyone heard it (or seen the film)? pretty good stuff. three germans (whom i have not heard of- t. tykwer, j. klimek, r. heil) trying their best to sound like underworld, but with a bit harder edge it seems. plus some remixes by the likes of solid state, sun electric, and others. the film is pretty tight as well. anyone else have opinions? - wells oliver / s0ewoliv@titan.vcu.edu " The only difference between suicide and martyrdom is press coverage. I loved the film. At first I wondered where in the world it was going, but then it got pretty interesting. At points I thought I WAS hearing Underworld remixes or something. The soundtrack was consistent and noteworthy. The film was very entertaining...lots of fun. On what label is the soundtrack and does it have a US release? jeff wells wrote:

TVT is releasing the soundtrack. I have a vinyl single with two tracks from the soundtrack. Don't know about the full-length, but Sun Electric is a fab group, and I'm curious to hear more about their input in the project. Aa

Enjoyed the film I must say..nice to see someone finally making a film with a real soundtrack as opposed to the usual..oh let's just bung a whole wad of singles together to bump up the future soundtrack sales to cross promote this movie.. pisses me off, I miss the good old days of Marricone soundtracks which not just inhance, but become integral parts of the movie. Imagine the good the Bad and the Ugly with a 90s style "hit' driven soundtrack... Not to say that the music in run lola was anywhere as interesting as old Ennio, but it is more the act of intelligently integrating music and sound effects throughout an entire film that I am reffering too...certainly worth going to check out..highly entertaining philippa ----------
