I was reading David Toop's "Ocean of Sound" and was intrigued by his
description of St. GIGA, a Japanese radio station that was broadcasting
"earth sounds" and weird stuff twenty four hours a day. Their program
schedule was based on the tides and seasons, and the music aimed at
getting people in tune with the earth, etc.
I looked them up today on the net and Ricky Martin is on their program
schedule. I hear they went commercial when the public didn't get their
initial format...
does anyone know anything about this (their site is in Japanese)?
and does anyone know of any similar sorts of innovative uses of Internet
radio?
