Has anyone else heard "Nightwork" ? I really like this...especially track 4. A bit darker and more disturbed than other things I've heard by them. Sounds like a Sabresesque nightmare. jeff -- jeff "10,000 people all screaming the same thing at the same time are wrong, even if they're right." dancing/about/architecture "...with wandering steps and slow..." yep, great album. Definitely darker than previous efforts. Check out their newish mini-album, (about 50 + min ) Corrosion on Iris light. Dark and captivating. A refinement of nightwork. Here is a review of it that I wrote for gooves issue 2: Blue Corrosion Iris Light (UK) The promo sheet that comes with this CD states that the music is almost big beat like. This is not an accurate description at all. Blue has always been a dark band with influences from the dub world. This mini-album (it clocks in at around 50 min) is not an exception. Blue, unlike many electronic bands, shows an evolutionary growth on this outing. Instances of past endeavors can be heard but they are expanded and warped into something new. The beats are heavy with bass and assaulting even when the tempo is slow. This is accompanied by strong ambient and melodic arrangements. This is then coupled with dub like engineering, which leaves the music dripping with emotion. The only musical comparison that comes close is the recent offering by Witchman (Witchman vs. Jammin Unit). The sound is very similar but Blue is perhaps more atmospheric. If you liked Blue's previous releases (Resistance, Mexican Church or Nightwork) then this is a must have.
