These Russian fellaz are doing some nice electronic music that you may enjoy as much as i am. The first one is Eu on the Mu label, nice/short mp3 extracts of flowing IDM noise; and Fizzarum is quality static/hiss electronica that should be absorbed fully. Check them out if you have the time.. Fizzarum has been featured on a clear City Centre Offices 10", and Eu are set to release a full length very soon.. http://www.mu.ru/eu/music.html http://fizzarum.mu.ru/ Pietro. _____________________________________ Pietro Da Sacco, m b m @ n e t c o r e . c a ::: Experimental Electronica in Words ::: ::: Grooves Magazine ::: http://www.rain.org/~audio/grooves/ ::: Insound.com ::: Grooves Issue 1: http://www.insound.com/zinestand/grooves/

FYI: the fuzzarum release on city centre label was a 7" not a 10" and i agree with pietro, it's a great release. -->-Lance--- mclance@nacs.net lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

To make things clear, mU is not a label, it's a community (note for myself: should spend more time on the English version of the site). The phattest related label thing, not featured on the site yet, is called Art-Tek; it was founded a few years back by our heroic Solar X and is now buzzing with a new upcoming release or two - a compilation of local IDM-like talents is due to come out. It's great to see folks of our camp getting recognition on the list :) -- Stay tuned, MhZ

Greets, A friend and I have been making some music. Its a more rock based (yeah yeah yeah....) music, with a type of electronic edge. Its more of just a side project. Anyways, normally what we do, is throw down beats and samples and what not, and record guitar and vocals. So all we really have in our band is a guitar, a vocalist, and a computer. Recently we were thinking about attempting to play live, but when we thought of it, we couldnt help laugh about thinking of us on stage with a computer, me singing, and him playing guitar. So we have been trying to think of ways to make a live show more interesting and we dont really want to have to bring together 3 other people so they can play drums, backing guitar, and bass. We want to keep it as it is. Anyways, I know this doesnt really pertain to IDM, but I know there are some smart/creative people aout there, and maybe I can get an idea!! thanks! =) Tenfly

i should tell you of my older band -- THE TEEN GENOCIDE (i still shiver at the thought of calling a band that, but it fitted the music somehow). our live setup was essentially that, computer & singer/guitarist, & it worked. the only 'equipment' we had was a cactus & a bunch of christmas lights on the computer. fred, who was manning the puter (he's now 'oeuf korreckt', check his tunes on http://www.notype.com, thanks for the plug) was basically doing nothing but pushing 'play' to start the tune, but he looked _so_ into it (& even pretended to push random keys) that nobody knew he wasn't doing a single thing. overall everybody liked the setup. so i say go laptop. -- david

well i don't know if this is very smart but my idea for a life show was: start the track on your laptop then cover your equipment with plastic rap so i doesn't get stuff on it. mind you, your equipment will be pulled back so you have some room on the stage. you then go out on the stage w/ fruit and other pieces of food that have been hollowed out for a place to put your M80s. light the fuse and your live show is complete. exploding food...the best live show ever! then go back, play a new track and light some more food. its not as cheap as you could hope for but its fun.* // ?-???-? ___________________________________________________________________ Get the Internet just the way you want it.
