Does anyone know of a way to create a mixed cd-r with the cd broken up into tracks. I am been trying to do this with Sound Edit 16 and Toast for Macintosh breaking up the tracks into seperate .aiff files and creating a cd with 0seconds between tracks. Has anyone been able to do this or are there and good resources on the web to do this. I really don't want a cd with one 74 minute track ;) -Thanks. James M. I've been having problems with this dilemma as well. I broke up the tracks on my PC using Cool Edit Pro but found even with the burn-at-once feature in whatever Adaptec proggie I was using I still got the odd click between tracks.... until... I discovered WinOnCD. You can load into the program a 740 meg audio file, and break up the tracks within the program, then burn at once.... VERY effective. Works wonderfully! Highly recommend it. Toast doesn't support disk-at-once burns.....when you burn a CD using Toast, the laser used to cut the disc is momentarily turned off every time a new track ID is designated, this results is those minute gaps you hear.... Adaptec's Jam software WILL support disk-at-once burns....all one needs to do to break up a continuous mix into separate tracks is note the time (ie...1:40:50, etc.) where the different track ID's should be inserted and enter that into Jam's track listing...there's no need to break the original file down into separate, smaller files...even better features about Jam are that it will recognize split stereo files and burns using the Red Book audio format which is the recording industry's standard for writing CD's, neither of which Toast can do....Jam used to list for around $280, but I picked it up from MacMall a few months ago for around $150 or so...well worth the investment if you're serious about burning audio... \|/ @--out----------*--+what-I-got-in-my-head-you-can't-buy-steal-or-borrow /|\ -Primal Scream --Paul p.
