I notice that Solar X has some other releases while looking on the page. Anyone know what the availability of them are ? How to they compare to 'Little Pretty Automatic' ?? Rob Codec! http://www.mindstorm.com/codec LogiQ http://www.mindstorm.com/logiq

The first one is a cassette only and I don't have it. The second one is called "X Rated" (on Art-Tek) and is good techno stylee. "Pretty Little Automatic" is a quite a departure from it stylistically. I like 'em both. jeff phlux@ix.netcom.com wrote:

Xrated album has mellower sound, for me it's something close to Aphex's I Care Because You Do and SAW85-92. For some time it was available via the Ambient Soho mailorder, not sure if it's still there. The two EPs on Defective Records are good too - harsh distorted uptempo beats on half with warm melodic pieces. See http://www.defectiverecords.com for ordering info. The earlier cassette releases were in ultra-small quantities, given out to friends, not actually released at all etc. And I don't even have an Outre X Mer cassette! -- Stay tuned, MhZ

He also has 2 12"s on Defective Records. The first one is called 'outre x mer ep' and has 3 tracks from his debut 'outre x mer album' and extended version of 'tjuchpulses' from 'X rated'. My favourite track from this EP is Pozdno Utrom, I think it's one of the best tracks Roman has ever made. 'Kalashikoff Bullet Bath EP' sounds quite similar to 'little pretty automatic'. Nick.

I have "Outre X Mer" cassete. :P And I think music on it like music by Polygon Window. But "Outre X Mer" more better, than on "Surfing On Sine Wave". Thanks, Roman
