The tracks from the Flanger CD were released as two separate 12"s, each with 4 tracks from the album. Second, there's only one member in Nonplace Urban Field, Bernd Friedmann (aka Burnt Friedman). He's also responsible for the Drome and Some More Crime releases (the latter being a project founded by Bernd and a certain Hernandez). Third, yes, there was some talk about Flanger on this list. JeffNinja was talking about and even gave away some free promos (not to me, unfortunately :-). Several list members offered reviews and opinions, ... This must be the same 'certain Hernandez' who was also on Drome's "Anachronism", right? Who is this person and is he/she still collaborating with Bernd? I mean, how recent are the Some More Crime releases - I've never heard anything by Bernd under that name and Anachronism dates back to '92. Yes, it's the same Hernandez. No, after 'Anachronism' (Drome) and before 'Fuzzy Sets' (S.M.C.) they decided to follow different paths because they got different opinions about what their music should develope into. Hernandez did more 'classic' Techno afterwards. The last S.M.C. ('Fuzzy Sets') is from 1995, I think (to lazy to look it up - do it yourself on my Bernd Friedmann discography :-). Later an album for Incoming! was planned (one track being on a promo CD Inc! made in 1995/1996) but never finished. Recently Bernd developed plans for a 're-mastered, best of, new edit' release of tracks from 'Another Domestic Drama ...' and 'Fuzzy Sets' together with some new stuff, but I guess this won't happen before 2000 (first all his other projects should be released). The early S.M.C. (with Hernandez) is more EBM/Industrial stuff, 'Another Domestic Drama ...' is Bernd's favourite, but I haven't heard it. 'Fuzzy Sets' shows some elements of Drome and N.U.F., together with some 4 to the floor beats and lots of strange voice and sound samples. S.M.C. is basically cut'n'paste music, showing the bad sides of mankind (well, sort of). Dude, you completely missed the flanger shit by about two weeks. I think there were almost as many in-depth (meaning more then three sentences) takes on the Flanger album as there were of Ae's latest EP. Hell, I wrote two (still like Chocalate Weasel better, though). That's what happens when you unsubscribe in a huff. Anyway, when are you gonna lay down the gauntlet and tell those waif-thin bosses of yours to start playing some real music during Nitro instead of all that watered-down redneck rock? Tom
