There has been some talk on this list about hip hop with an idm sound (excluding idmsters remixing rap tracks). listening to the 'South Park' soundtrack i noticed some hip hop cuts that definitely had some idm-ish beats. in fact i wish i heard more idm stuff with beats this funky. any comments? urm, um... no, a friend of mine did. besides having the musical numbers from the movie (which is actually quite funny) it has some songs 'inspired by the film' including some hip hop tracks with dope beats. please don't laugh at me ;) Join 18 million Eudora users by signing up for a free Eudora Web-Mail account at http://www.eudoramail.com

HAR HAR HAR. I liked the soundtrack to "The General's Daughter" enough to try and seek it out on CD -- some pretty strange combinations of beats and prison farm chants. Dreadful movie though.

"South Park Movie"? Is it at all like "Pi"? Does the soundtrack have any Warp bands? ;) BTW, the movie was recentley dubbed the most profane movie ever made by Media Index, on the basis of "221 violent scenes, 399 bad words and 128 crude gestures in just 80 minutes." If that ain't enough reason to see it, I don't know what is.

this is from memory so apologies for any mis-information but...a couple of months ago there was an interview with the guy that produced much of the music for south park in 'sound on sound' magazine. the guy was also the main man behind electro-poppers 'information society', which i was quite surprised at. you should be able to read the interview at: <http://www.sospubs.co.uk/> cheers, mark.
