I just picked this up over the weekend and I'll say that it's definitely a worthy purchase. The remixes are great and the hip hop ones are different than most you'll hear anywhere else. The artwork is by TDR and they did a great job on the packaging. Recommended purchase... and my favorite track is: East Flatbush Project "Tried By 12 (Tried By Funkstorung)" Shimone Carl Fulp wrote:

I'm not and never was a raver. I don't watch TV. Aphex Twin hasn't released anything in quite some time. I'm sick of all the retro talk. Let's talk about the here and now... What does everyone think of the Schematic comp "Lily of the Valley?" While "Ischemic Folks" was good, I think it reveled a bit too much in Autechre circa-"Chiastic Slide" territory. "Lily of the Valley" is much better. Even a bit of melody has slipped into the DSP crunch machine. More varied. When is Richard Devine going to release a full-length? Has anyone heard the new Funkstorung "Appetite for Disconstruction?" What's it sound like? So have they escaped the Autechre comparisons yet? Are there raps on it? What's the word on the new Bogdan? I recently bought "Ibiza Anthems Vol. 4" EP. So far I'm disappointed. It seems uninspired and haphazard. It doesn't have those beautiful beats that keep me coming back despite the Ween-like vocal tomfoolery of say "Boku Mo Wakaran.". Is the forth-coming "Thinking of You" any better? FE is touting it as the last Bogdan LP. The Sonig compilation: is it worth it? I'm looking forward to seeing Mouse on Mars here in Philly next week. Are the previous Matmos releases even half as good as the brilliant "The West?" Kid 606 and Friends Vol. 1: is it as great as the recent blurb in the Wire hints? I like the Hrvatski remix I've heard thus far, but I'm not a big fan of previous Kid 606 material. I'm not new. I've been lurking for about two years now. It seems the list has become less active, and when it is active, it's mostly non-music discussions or blind praise of the old stuff. I'm hoping this message might lead to a fruitful discussion of some more recent releases. A Zen Lunatic

I agree. It's fantastic. Way better than the first Schematic comp which I actually did like. However, the melodies throughout Lily are sublime and not so Ae derivative. -- shephrd@earthlink.net | "...thita NK;" "...mechanically reclaimed by autechre..." --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
