I'm trying to find music in the vein of the orbs remix of "praying mantra" by Material. loop based,middle-eastern/indian etc samples with a hefty dub influence, bottom heavy etc...etc...oh, um on cd.

Another Orb remix inna-similar-stylee is their mix of Audioweb's "Faker". Maybe more of a ragga flavor than Middle Eastern, but I've mixed it with the Material track of which you speak. You might also dig a couple things on Asphodel - the Badawi album and single (for Middle Eastern sounds) and Sub Dub (more of a dubby flavor). I really dig this whole crossover sound as well but there's not much of it around. Maybe Muslimgauze might fit the bill as well? Haven't heard much of his material myself but people always seem to describe it as such. Enjoy...Brock ____________________________________ Brock Phillips - bphil@email.unc.edu WXYC 89.3 FM The New Science Experience Tune in every Sunday night 10 PM-12 AM US EST http://www.wxyc.org for live RA broadcast Promos, demos, etc. welcome for submission Email for postal address and details...
