Don't know if this is the same band/guy, but I picked up an old Eye Q CD, _Pacific Rhythm_ and it has a track by Professor Smith. The liner notes say Professor Smith is Andrew Smith, the editor of San Fran based magazine XLR8R. I got some money burning a hole in my pocket. (Not really. It's just an attempt to deny my obsessive/compulsive buying habit.) What should I buy? Pole, _CD1_ Slotek, _Hydrophonic_ (I think) Pimp Daddy Nash, _Private Leftfield (somethin' somethin')_ a Superstition/Sm:)e comp, _Very Superstitious_ that had some L.S.G. tracks an inexpensive 3XCD from Superstition, _Best of Vol. 5_ and the dark horse pick, an On-U Sound 3XCD "box set" that's on the worst label around, Cleopatra. Let me also take this opportunity to plug my show, Digital Domain, up at Beatflow.com. It's got some tracks y'all might enjoy (Nightmares on Wax, E-Z Rollers, Jedi Knights, Coldcut, Jeep Beat Collective, Lalo Schiffrin). Give it a listen. Listening requires the Microsoft Media Player which, unfortunately, more often than not won't work on Macs. Fucking Bill Gates. Less stress, Pete

I find it strangely synchronicity-ish to read your mail, having just gotten The Sound of SUPERSTITION Vol 4 double CD two days ago at a 2nd hand shop. Never seen this label before, but apparently they are quite prolific. I'd put this more toward the trance end of the stick, reminiscent of Rising High's trance-ambient releases from +-95 era. LSG/Oliver Lieb falls into that bracket and if you like that sound, go for it. As far as recommendations go, can't help you much as all things revolve around personal taste and preference. Just be aware that the On-U box set might not get heavy rotation if you buy it : I've got so much older On-U stuff which I don't regret owning, but certainly never listen to these days. I * NP: EP7 : fave track is #6 for now.
