The Tzadik Serge Gainsbourg tribute was brilliant. The David Shea version of "Initials BB" was kind of jungle, so I'd consider it an IDM album :) I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't a noise record the first time I listened to it (there's only *one* really shitty noise track on it!) .Bil. ich|bin|ein|kopieier

this is part of the 'great jewish composers' series. they have also released homage cds for burt bacharach & serge gainsbourg (featuring a cibo matto remix of 'je t'aime, moi non plus', of all things). both are excellent & probably constitute the best introduction to the 'tzadik sound' -- if there is such a thing. haven't heard the bolan one though, didn't interest me as much, but i'm sure it's great as well. -- david turgeon at http://www.notype.com
