Maybe a new thread for the board... Anyone know of any IDM artists' sampling habits or sources that may be different from the norm? EG- Boards Of Canada's 'Aquarius' samples from the musical 'Hair' - a track also called 'Aquarius'... Don't want to hear any Funky Drummer type examples just stuff that makes you go "Well i'll be!!!" __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Thousands of Stores. If you listen to any half decent jazz radio station you'll hear (in fragmented form) 99% of Amon Tobin's music within a few weeks.

His last lp contains a shitload of licks off the 'blue velvet' soundtrack, which is pretty obvious with tracks such as 'people like frank'. Then there's the choice vocal sample from 'eraserhead' on 'like regular chickens'. I guess he's got a thing for lynch, which is ok by me. gronk, bronk. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

i JUST heard a Zorn track "from "Spillane" that he used for the last track on Adventures in Foam "Cruzer." one of those jump out of the chair moments because it took me a good while to remember exactly who it was. also just heard (during Thanksgiving Driving) a Pat Methany cover of i think Thelonius Monk. not sure what the name of the song was, but it was the jazzy guitar lick from that track towards the end of Throbbing Pouch (sorry, i only have a tape w/ no track titles!). erm, the one -jeff -------------- 1642 try 621 -------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
