indeed! what it lacks in melody, it makes up for with some of their most exquisite rythm programming to date. peter becker wrote:

Let's continue to discuss one band, one EP, one label roster to the exclusion of all others. I think this is an excellent direction for this list to go. Only SQP and AE really matter, since everyone else can be easily dismissed as a rip-off of one or the other. Also, since only three people on this list can actually articulate their appreciation for anything, let's stop that sort of business altogether and just slag on stuff. Oh, and one more suggestion for everybody: Please continue the discussion of certain mastering engineers' beer preferences and the weight class of techstep producers. I like it a lot. </sarcasm> Really folks, there are other records out there. You can talk about them. Thank you and good afternoon. Tom

I thought it broke Richard's track record of "Every album he releases is best to date." Not bad, just not groundbreaking for the first time since i had heard of him (I Care Because You Do.) _________________________________ Adam Roesch / roesch@augsburg.edu University of Idaho / Moscow / ID / USA Visit my Fila Brazillia/Pork Recordings fan site: http://dogbert.augsburg.edu/~roesch/pork/ "Because success needs killing" TRICKY

i know this'll come out wrong, but...i gotta say it. why does tom bother writing this if he's not gonna mention other records that actually are out there? not that i dont agree with him whole-heartedly about that point. i just dont get why he'd bother to spell that out without bringing up some examples? has he done this consistently in the past? im kinda new to this, but i havent been witness to it. i guess thats what im trying to get out of this list. in a way. some tips on the new, the old & the tight? ykwis? trying to figure out whether or not theres too much getting by me? lately, im enjoying the joechem paap fax cd, mannequin lung, zhark, harold budd - all, triston palmer meets jah thomas, sam prekop, john hassell - vernal equinox, biosphere, the delsin imprint, monk, scud&nomex - total destruction, van halen, orbus terrarum, rhythm and sound - smile, gas, m.o.m. - both new eps, the fishcake comp, van hoen, ep7, flanger, and the horse opera remix of hood on drop beat. what else? i wanna check that senking ive been reading about. im really not trying to slag mr. millar. really. just thinking i might be on wrong list? anyway... and im pout. _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. 's cool dog, don't bother me none! well, I meant to post some reviews right after that but then I realized my free guest passes to the cinema expire today and I had to bust out to the Downtown West 8 and check out Election. It's goood. No IDM in it tho, oops. Normally I make a practice of posting big wads of reviews of everything I've picked up that's a recent release. Sometime tonight, I promise: Colongib, Kumquat, Dated, and Jason Hogans. Tom
