Or, more accurately, Czech beer was originally budweiser. The Czech company was started in like the 15th century, but never got an international trademark, so Budweiser America sued and won rights to their name, cuch that the Czech Bud is now Budvar (vor? I forget) anywhere but Czechoslovakia, I mean the Czech Republic. It's a funny mess that I'm sure a few people are pissed off about. At least this has been my understanding of the situation. M. If there's one thing I can't stand, it's up.

It's called Budvar in the czech republic, too. Nick
