I was fortunate enough to aquire through a direct trade with the artist a copy of this self released CDR. Pimmon: _Pola Pola_ is sublime stuff. Imagine a large portion of Oval textures and sound surfaces on steriods, combined with Alio Die like droneing (but from Machines), combined with just a touch of deeply submerged melodic wanderings ala Lithops, and you might get close to my impressions of this release. An in your face reductionist Microstoria, perhaps....? In email with him, he described his technique as "attempting to force the digital realm into the analog realm". Not sure what this specifically means, but i like it however its done :) Anyhow, wonderful stuff. Dont know if this CDR is generally available or not (you would have to ask PIMMON- pg@cola.net). He did mention an upcoming 12" on some obscure label, and an upcoming release on Meme seems to be in the works... im looking forward- -thad
