ha, i knew you were a monty python fan. i still remember your biosphere review: "pining for the fjords" and: anyone (northamericans) see our beloved FatBoySlim on the Late Late Show last night? i couldn't get around the fact that the host kept referring to him as fatboyslim rather than normon cook. anyhow, it's good to see that my/our thoughts on him aren't without reason. this boy is clue-less. and: seeing that this list has such a large number Christina Ricci fans, she was on jay leno last night as well. i've got to wonder: where the hell did THOSE come from? she's just a little girl! tomas

Christ, even *I* didn't remember writing that. You frighten me sometimes, Tomas. :) Given the fact that the majority of IDM listeners seem to be geeky whiteboys, I expect there's a pretty high crossover with Python fans as well.

My sweetie was on TV and I *missed* it? Damn. And yeah, I know what you mean. She was such a skinny little thing in those Addam's Family movies. Who would've thunk that she'd become so... very. Yoink. Greg

Now what people need to do is push this idea further: do an album like this, with like 5-8 songs per side, and do them all in parallel tracks. I think that having a hip-hop 12" double-grooved like that would be a problem for DJs, like if your needle slips (heaven forbid!) you could end up playing a wholde different track. Or maybe that'd be an easy way to do transitions. (heh)

I was really surprised to hear him with a british accent. I guess cos he looks like a washed-up surfer, i expected him to sound californian. Stupid me. I though it was funny when Norman played one of the host's favorite songs by pressing a button on his computer. I thought he did a decent job of explaining to the clueless host how he actually makes music. "If you sample a whole song, you have to pay for it, but if you just sample a little bit, no one will know" or something like that. oh, just to blow my IDM cred, i just got "You've come..." and i'm digging it.

Fatboy slim? Clueless? I think he's made an album of the best party songs since Biggie died. Though Fatboy is far from IDM, more like really good SDM (S="stupid").

Please... of all the off-topic tangents to get onto, drooling (like this) is by far the worst. _________________________________ Adam Roesch / roesch@augsburg.edu University of Idaho / Moscow / ID / USA Visit my Fila Brazillia/Pork Recordings fan site: http://dogbert.augsburg.edu/~roesch/pork/ "Because success needs killing" TRICKY
